Providing Maintenance To an Existing Control4 Home Automation System

We were contacted to work on a three-bedroom house with a basement conversion in Chelsea. Ultimately, the client wanted us to maintain the existing smart home and provide a few upgrades to improve the smart home functionality around her house.

When we took over the system there were several programming errors and issues with the Smart home so a one day investigation was carried prior to formulating a plan of action. To add to the Control4 automation system, we looked into stabilising the network infrastructure upgrading all Wi-Fi access points to improve the network of the property. We also upgraded a few hardware items to facilitate the entire system upgrade and make system improvements.

The Challenge

Working through the schedule of others

Although we did not experience many challenges during the project, it was a challenge to upgrade an existing system without any handover docs and limited information. We needed to be able to maintain our own schedule and move forward without delay and we managed to complete the upgrades within the timescales set by the client. Client was left with a fully functional Control4 smart home customised to their exact requirement.

The Solution

Overall, the project was a success. We provided a few necessary upgrades to the Control4 home automation system. These upgrades included the new Control4 remotes to replace the older models, and the installation of Ubiquiti WiFi Access points to ensure a strong connection throughout the house. We also fixed any ongoing issues with the system so that it was working correctly during this time.
